Look beyond the deluxe label

The useful comparison is between named ships and room categories. A larger suite, a standard cabin, a preferred deck and a particular sailing date are different booking choices. Do not assume that every deluxe vessel has the same cabin dimensions or that the advertised starting price refers to a suite.

Compare accommodation with published evidence

Esmeralda, Chateau Lafayette, Crown Prince and Nile Goddess now include references for their operator-published accommodation information. Use the specific cabin or suite, rather than the ship’s category name, as the basis of the comparison.

Check the journey and the offer together

A three-night route from Aswan and a four-night route from Luxor are not equivalent stays. Confirm where the cruise boards, when the Luxor sightseeing takes place and whether your onward connection fits the final day. Read each offer’s ticket, transfer, meal and drinks conditions: a facility available on the ship is not necessarily a service included in the package.
