Immersive and wonderful It's hard to put into words how lovely our Nile cruise on the Tui Al Horeya, was, but I'll try. We arrived at around 630/700pm on our first night after very rigorous security at Luxor Airport. Immediately our senses were blasted by the culture of Luxor. Al Horeya was berthed opposite the most beautiful stone pillars; she was it up in her splendour. Down some tricky stone steps onto her gangplank and we were gobsmacked at how elegant and swish her internals were. We went to our room where our luggage was waiting. We dined in Lazezza restaurant and already we knew we were going to have a lovely holiday. 😍 I can say, hand on heart, that I've never experienced wonderful staff like we had the pleasure of being with for 7 days. They were attentive and friendly. Every single one deserves praise but these are the ones we got closer too. Karem in the bars, Mohammed in the restaurant (I wasn't well one day and he was so caring), our cabin lad Saffy who gave us a lovely towel animal every day. Katie, our entertainment organiser, bubbly, friendly and fun, did a great job. One person who will stay in my memory is Egyptologist Ayman, boy what a warm wonderful character he is. He brought ancient Egypt to life. We were group 2 in the excursions so his catch phrase to keep us together was "Tui 2 Tui 2". There is nothing he doesn't know about ancient Egypt and his passion is in incredible. Food brilliant. Snack bar upstairs, restaurant downstairs. Tasty cocktails. The upper deck is well decked out where you get the most wonderful view of the Nile. We went to a Nubian village, loads of tombs and temples, so we certainly got our steps Being smaller than a cruise liner (around 140 people), meant we got to know each other and it was a much more intimate feeling rather than thousands of people. My favourite excursion was the sound and light show at Karnak temple. So immersive it actually made me cry but I love history so it was right up my street. There was nothing I could fault. Home time came which was well organised. We boarded the plane but after an hour the flight was abandoned due to an engine problem. Despite hundreds of people from our boat not knowing what will happen, we were taken to a very swish hotel who roomed us, gave us dinner breakfast and lunch (Tui, you were brilliant getting us sorted). All OK for the following day. Although everyone was tired (it had been a little stressful due to onward travel plans being disrupted, us having booked a ferry to our home Isle of Wight), everyone's spirits were high and very saddened to leave. All in all this holiday was wonderful (I don't like boats but I needn't have worried). Thank you Al Horeya, God bless her and all who sail in her.

A lovely sunny boat ride Our group had a great time on the good ship Movenpick Darakum. Nice cabin and super food. We had two weeks with Riveria Travel in November. Now that the Grand Egyptian Museum is fully open I think that Riveria has changed it’s MO. We had lots of Egyptian pounds left – now on sale on Ebay (267461210953). People on our boat who used Egyptian ATMs were limited to transactions of EGP 1000.

Experience of a lifetime We did a 12 day Nile cruise end April/beginning May, organized by a Belgrade PUTNIK Travel Agency in conjunction with the Cairo CLEOPATRA Egypt Tours. We were a bit weary before setting off to Egypt because our supposed cruise ship had been ranked as a “3 star”. However, it had been changed to a different ship a couple days prior to our trip. Even this was changed on our actual arrival/boarding the ship when it appeared (to our delight) to be a rather luxurious ship, much better than the previous (supposed) two. The Blue Shadow IV is an excellent ship, with beautiful cabins, large sliding windows, comfortable beds and all the amenities needed. Food was great, large choice, varied and very tasty, especially the Egyptian traditional food. Service top-notch.

Extra travel escape cruise with our guide SULTAN Cruise on the Nile very captivating, all visits were scrupulously respected, everything is well organized, our guide SULTAN is very interesting, great Egyptologist speaking perfectly French, attentive to the well-being of each, we were only 35 people on a boat that can hold 100 passengers, the boat is a little aging, but very clean, the cabins are well arranged, as for meals and entertainment it was perfect. The quality of this cruise is mainly related to the quality of the guide and we had an absolutely great guide. SULTAN is really advisable.

Nile Cruise with Travel Evasion on board the DA VINCI We spent a very good week in the boat DA VINCI. It was clean, air conditioned and the staff was very friendly. The visits were very interesting, we took full eyes. Our Guide, Mira, explained the history of Egypt very well. After the cruise, we took the week at the Inn in Hurghada, and for this reason I took the liberty of removing stars from the cruise... indeed, the guides take us during the cruise to 'shops' like an essential oil and papyrus factory. Trip Tip, don't buy anything in these shops! Awards are multiplied by 10! We find exactly the same products in shops for a bread butcher.
