Questions about this trip

Why can't the guide go inside the tombs?

To preserve the silence and sanctity of the tombs and to prevent overcrowding in the narrow corridors, the Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities prohibits guides from lecturing inside. Your guide will give you a full detailed explanation outside, show you pictures, and tell you what to look for before you enter on your own.

Is the tomb of Tutankhamun included?

No, the standard entry ticket to the Valley of the Kings includes access to three tombs open on that day. The tomb of Tutankhamun (KV62) requires a separate "extra" ticket, which can be purchased at the gate.

Can I take photos in the Valley of the Kings?

Photography with mobile phones is currently allowed in most standard tombs for free. However, using professional cameras (DSLRs) usually requires purchasing a specific photography permit at the ticket office. Flash photography is strictly forbidden in all tombs.

Is there a lot of walking?

Yes, the West Bank involves significant walking, often on uneven, sandy, or paved surfaces under the sun. Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen are highly recommended.
